Academic Bowl

The Academic Bowl is an M&O competition held one evening each year. Each school assembles a team of eight juniors and seniors, two students compete in each subject. The subject categories are Math, Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies. The students take two 45-minute tests, separated by a break for dinner. The tests are scored and awards presented the same night. Individual awards go to students in the top three places, and a trophy goes to the team with the highest composite score. STAA has had individual medal winners almost every year and in 2010 took 1st place as a team.
